FAQs

At Tee Styling & Co., clarity, professionalism, and hair health are part of every appointment. Below are answers to common questions about booking, services, preparation, and salon policies so you know exactly what to expect before your visit.

Booking & Appointments

How do I book an appointment?

New clients must begin with the Hair Health Intake appointment. Returning clients must book through the Returning Client Portal using the password-protected booking page.

Do I need to confirm my appointment?

Yes. Confirmation messages are sent 72 hours before your appointment. Appointments must be confirmed by the 48 hour mark or the appointment may be released. If we do not hear from you before the final 24 hours, the appointment will be cancelled and the retainer will be forfeited.

What is the retainer for?

The retainer secures your appointment time and goes toward your service total. Retainers are non-refundable but may be transferred one time with proper notice.

Can I cancel or reschedule my appointment?

Appointments may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours notice. Retainers may be transferred one time. Less than 24 hours notice will result in a forfeited retainer.

What happens if I am late?

There is a 15 minute grace period. If you are more than 15 minutes late without communication, the appointment is considered a no-show and the retainer is forfeited.

Do you accept walk-ins?

No. Tee Styling & Co. is a private, appointment-only studio.

How long do appointments take?

Appointment times vary depending on the service, hair density, length, and condition. Please allow enough time for your appointment and avoid scheduling tight commitments afterward.

New Clients & Consultations

Do all new clients need a Hair Health Intake?

Yes. All new clients must begin with the Hair Health Intake so we can assess the condition of your hair, discuss your hair history and goals, and create a service and maintenance plan.

I am a returning client. When should I book a Returning Client Intake?

Book a Returning Client Intake if it has been a long time since your last visit, you are unsure what to book, your hair condition has changed, or you want to make a major change to your hair.

What if I’m not sure which service to book?

Book a Hair Health Intake (new clients) or a Returning Client Intake so we can assess your hair and recommend the correct services.

Hair Health & Services

Are services performed based on the style I want or the condition of my hair?

Services are recommended based on the condition and health of your hair, not just the style requested. Healthy hair is always the foundation for every service.

Do you work with previously relaxed or damaged hair?

Yes, but a consultation or intake may be required to determine what services can be done safely.

Do you trim natural hair in its curly/coily state?

If you regularly wear your hair curly, trimming may be done in its natural state. If you typically wear your hair straight, trims are usually done in the straightened state.

Do you offer pixie cuts on natural hair?

Pixie and shortcut styles are currently offered for relaxed hair clients.

How often should I book appointments?

Maintenance schedules vary depending on your hair, goals, and services. Most clients follow a consistent maintenance schedule for trims, treatments, silk presses, relaxers, or extension maintenance.

Hair Preparation

Should I wash my hair before my appointment?

Most services include shampoo and conditioning unless otherwise instructed. Hair should be detangled before your appointment unless the service states otherwise.

How should I prep for a color service?

Shampoo your hair 2–3 days before your appointment and avoid heavy oils or styling products.

How should I prep for a relaxer or texture-altering service?

Avoid scratching, brushing, or scalp irritation for 3–5 days before your appointment. Avoid tight styles and do not shampoo within 5 days of your appointment. Keep your scalp clean and free of oils, gels, or edge control.

Extensions

Do you provide hair for extension services?

Clients must provide their own hair or purchase hair through the salon. Hair is not included in extension service pricing unless specifically stated.

What kind of hair should I bring for my install?

Only 100% human hair is accepted. No reused bundles.

How many bundles do I need?

This depends on the desired length and fullness. A consultation is recommended for extension services to determine how much hair is needed.

Do you work over installs done by other stylists?

No. I do not perform move-ups, maintenance, or adjustments on extension installs done by other stylists. Outside installs must be removed and a new install must be booked.

Studio Policies & Experience

Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?

No extra guests at this time. Appointments are intentionally private to maintain a peaceful and professional environment.

Do you offer same-day appointments?

Occasionally. Last-minute openings are usually posted on Instagram.

Do you offer refunds?

Services are non-refundable, but adjustments may be made if there is an issue related to the service performed.

What if I am not happy with my hair?

Please contact us within 3 days so we can review the service and make adjustments if necessary. Adjustments do not include changing to a different style or service and must be related to the original service performed.

Payments & Retainers

What forms of payment do you accept?

Accepted payment methods are listed on the booking page.

Does the retainer go toward the service?

Yes. The retainer is applied to your total service cost.

Are retainers refundable?

No. Retainers are non-refundable but may be transferred one time with proper notice.
